The Flight Centre Schools Triathlon Series has become one of the largest mass-participation sporting charity events aimed at young people in the UK and is Restless Development's flagship fundraising event.
Open to young people aged between 7-13, the Schools Triathlon Programme provides the opportunity for young people to come together in teams of four and compete in their own event. All three sports are completed in a relay format, allowing each team member to swim, cycle and run, whilst raising money for Restless Development and their school's chosen charities.
Each event is held entirely on school sites in a safe and secure environment, and are inclusive and enjoyable for all abilities.
Between 2015-2019, over 9,000 young people have participated in the Schools Triathlon Programme raising over £1 million for Restless Development and local charities in the process.
“The Flight Centre Schools Triathlon has gone from strength to strength each year and it is brilliant to see the enthusiasm from the children, parents and schools alike. Their efforts will help thousands of young people around the world who are transforming their communities through better access to health, education and life skills. The children taking part really understand that they can make a difference and the combination of sport and charity in a children’s event has been incredibly powerful. I’m so excited about the potential for this event – we see it becoming the schools’ equivalent of the London Marathon.”
